Welcome to Folsom Hills Library/Media Center! I look forward to helping your students to become wholehearted readers.
Students visit the library with their class on weekly basis to check out books, to learn how to use the library catalog, to take reading counts tests and for story time. Story times are just one of the many exciting ways you can expand your horizons at the library. I try working with classroom teachers to help them find materials especially suited to the individual interests and abilities of your child. Library lessons will stress good Digital Citizenship, helping your child make safe and ethical use of chrome books. Our library catalog; Destiny is available online for your needs. Please encourage your child to enjoy and take care of the library materials and return books on time. Also, do not forget to sit and enjoy the library books with your children. We are doing Six Flags Read to Succeed again this year. Reading logs went home in the wednesday folders which will help you keep track of your reading with your students. We are doing "30 book Challenge" and many students have signed up to read and finish 30 books in various genres by the due date of May 5th 2017. There are a couple avid readers who already have finished the challange! Please click on the links on the left for more information.
Did you hear about our mobile library these days? I've been going to the classrooms with a rolling cart full of books or having the library on the backside of the stage since Mrs. Reddington's class is using the Library as their classroom for the last two and half weeks. Your students are awesome in cooperating with this new situation.
Happy Reading and happy holidays!
