City provides new pianos to Cordova High
As Cordova High School’s new Performing Arts Center nears completion, student musicians already using the facility’s classroom space welcomed some new additions to their rehearsals: two brand new grand pianos, courtesy of the City of Rancho Cordova’s Community Enhancement Fund.
The city’s voter-approved special fund - also known as Measure H - is a half-cent sales tax that finances community projects, which range from public safety to economic development to art programs. The City Council approved a nearly $103,000 allocation from the Community Enhancement Fund to provide Cordova High with the new pianos.
The City of Rancho Cordova is proud to support art programs that enhance educational opportunities for Rancho Cordova students and increases the opportunities for enhancing the quality of musical and other artistic performances taking place in Rancho Cordova. The new grand pianos and accessories funded by the Community Enhancement Fund will be used at Cordova High School in classrooms and in the Performing Arts Center located at the school for years to come.
