New faces and changes in FCUSD Leadership
You may notice some different faces around our schools and District office this year. Folsom Cordova is proud to announce some exciting leadership changes for the start of 2016-17 school year.
Congratulations to the following staff members on their new positions!
Alicia Caddell, CTE Coordinator located at our District Office. Alicia comes to us from Twin Rivers Unified School District where she was a Business and Technology Teacher. Alicia has been a high school Career Technical Education, Business and Technology teacher for the past thirteen-years, as well as a Webmaster, Chair of the school site's Technology Committee, and a member of the School Site Council.
Alicia received Teacher of the Year at Vista Nueva Career and Technology School in 2008 and 2010 as well as Dedication to Youth Award, Friday Night Live.
Amber Fontaine, Assistant Principal at Russell Ranch and Williamson Elementary. Amber has been with our district since 2002 where she taught at Cordova Villa Elementary in 3rd through 5th grade. She also had the opportunity to be the intervention teacher and Academic Support Coach.
Amy Strawn, Coordinator at W.E. Mitchell Middle and Cordova High School. Amy joined our district in 2007. She taught Kindergarten at Rancho Cordova Elementary then went to Mitchell Middle where she taught grades 6-8 English as well as Composition and Drama. After teaching at Mitchell for six years she joined the Cordova High family where she taught 9th grade English before accepting her new role.
Amy received Teacher of the Year award at Mitchell Middle in 2009-2010 as well as ACSA Aspiring Administrator of the Year in 2013.
Eric Eklund, Assistant Principal at Cordova High School. Eric comes to us from Yuba City High School where he was Assistant Principal.
Previous to becoming Assistant Principal at Yuba City High School, Eric taught social studies for nine years.
Jim Cagney, Director at Folsom Cordova Community Charter School. Jim started working for FCUSD in 1999 and has 10 years of teaching experience.
Jim received Teacher of the Year award while at Cordova Lane Elementary School.
Dr. John Dixon, Director of Professional Learning and School Supports. John has been with FCUSD since 2005. He was a middle and high school counselor for six years. John attended Oregon State University and completed a B.S. in Liberal Studies and a M.S. in Educational Counseling. Shortly after moving to California he secured his preliminary administrative service credential from Stanislaus State University. After working as an administrator for a few years, John decided to return to school and pursue a doctorate degree. In 2008 he completed his Ed. D. in Educational Leadership from the University of the Pacific.
Jonathan Johnson, Assistant Principal at Vista del Lago High School. Jonathan started working for FCUSD in 2013. He was a teacher for six years.
Jonathan was Site Teacher of the Year at Dixon High School in 2011-12 and 2014-15 he was Support Employee of the Year at Cordova High School.
Kat Bahry, Principal at Oak Chan Elementary. Kat has worked for FCUSD since 1997 and was a teacher for 18 years.
Kat has received Site Teacher of the Year award in 2000, 2002, and 2012 as well as Folsom-Cordova teacher of the Year in 2012.
Keith Elliott, Supervisor of Maintenance and Operations. Keith starting working for FCUSD in 2007 and was Site Classified Employee of the Year twice.
Kimberly Christierson, Assistant Principal at Navigator Elementary and Cordova Villa Elementary. Kimberly has been with FCUSD since 2001 and has 20 years of teaching experience.
Lori Emmington, Principal at Vista del Lago High School. Lori has worked for FCUSD since 2000 and has 20 years of English, social studies, and art teaching experience.
Lori has received Vista del Lago High School Teacher of the Year award in 2008-09, Vista del Lago High School Support Employee of the Year 2011-12 and in 2014-15.
Marie Pawlek, Principal at Cordova Meadows Elementary. Marie started working for FCUSD in 2001 and has 21 years teaching experience.
Michael Bose, Assistant Principal at Folsom Middle School. Michael is new to FCUSD and came to our district from Black Oak Mine Unified School District where he served as their principal. Michael has nine years of teaching experience prior to becoming an administrator.
Robin Smay, Inclusion Coordinator at our District office. Robin is new to FCUSD and comes to us from EDCOE SELPA as a Program Specialist. Robin also has seven years of special education teaching experience. Robin has previously also worked as an assistant principal and as a program coordinator.
Sara Parenzin, Principal at Mather Heights Elementary. Sara has been with FCUSD since 2002. Sara is National Board Certified in ELA and has taught for six years. She was ELA Lead Teacher for nine years as well.
Vickie Boudouris, Principal at Natoma Station Elementary. Vickie has worked for FCUSD since 2005 and has 17 years of teaching experience.
Vickie received the Aspiring Administrator Award, ACSA in 2015
