Folsom Middle classified employee earns top honor
Folsom Middle School clerk Bess Laliberte is being recognized as one of the Sacramento County Office of Education's 2017 Classified Employees of the Year.
Laliberte was selected for the award for her exemplary performance on the job. She will move onto represent classified employees at the state level.
Laliberte has worked at Folsom Middle School for the past eleven years. She is currently responsible for all aspects of attendance, independent studies, and the ADA reporting. Prior to her current role she worked as an Instructional Assistant in Special Education. Before joining Folsom Middle School she worked as a substitute teacher for grades K-12 for several years almost daily at schools in Folsom.
"My favorite thing about the job is the high energy, constant interaction with the students, their parents, the teachers, the administrators and my amazing co-workers here in the office," said Laliberte.
"Being recognized for this award sends an extraordinary message to all those behind the scenes in the education industry. I work around an office staff that is selfless, doesn't leave until the job is done, and maintains professionalism and patience under, at times, difficult circumstances. My fellow office staff all deserve this award as well. This award means the world to me, as both my grown daughters went all through the schools in Folsom and I know how well it has served them," she said.
Laliberte said, she firmly believes in California's public school system and is truly proud to represent Folsom and the entire county of Sacramento on the state level.
