Folsom High's Allaman praised for arts leadership
Congratulations to Folsom High Principal Kathryn Allaman, who was honored recently by the Sacramento County Board of Education with a Principal Arts Leadership Award. The annual recognition is intended to honor administrators who are making a difference in the arts and to highlight the positive impact arts education has on students.
Allaman is credited for preserving and supporting robust music, visual art and drama programs that benefit students and earn national accolades.
Music teacher and Visual and Performing Arts chairman Curtis Gaesser credited her “transformational efforts” and wrote: “While she gives credit for the success of the arts program to the teachers and students … her leadership around scheduling, community outreach, development of resources and attracting feeder schools supports a foundation for success.”
